Blu3zin3 WordPress Theme

Inspired by the Vertigo series of themes by Brian Gardner, I was compelled to create my own simple, white-dominated and business-like wordpress theme. The idea of making a template that’s SEO-friendly and ad-ready came later when deciding on what type of column formation would I implement on the theme.

Blu3zin3 1.0 WordPressTheme
Blu3zin3 1.0 WordPress Theme
fixed layout for 1024×768 resolution, 3-columns, clean, simple, SEO and Adsense-ready theme
Preview | Download | Theme Viewer

Installation instructions:

  1. Unzip blu3zin3.zip into your local folder.
  2. Upload the folder to your /wp-content/theme/ directory using an FTP client.
  3. CHMOD the template files (.php) to 666 in order to modify the theme files from your WP Admin.
  4. Activate the theme from your WP Admin panel under Presentation.

Additional instructions:

  • Replace title.gif in the images folder with your own image title.
  • To replace the demo ad, edit top-ad.php, left-ad.php and right-ad.php.

Comments, suggestions, recommendations and donations highly needed. Thanks!

    Hi there,

    I would really like to use your awsome theme on my website, owever I need sub-menu’s or child menu’s in the top because I have several pages. I don’t know what you call them - “floating sub menu”?

    Question: I assume the left sidebar can contain content just like the rightbar?

    Best regards
    Reinar

    @Reinar: the left sidebar doesn’t have formatting as the right one. It’s designed only for ad-placement.

    I love your theme.

    Is there a way to rotate the ads in the assigned spaces?

  6. Posted by Yoru on March 21st, 2007 at 8:16 am

    @Gail: Yes, there is. Try AdSense paster plugin. Just make sure you choose the right ad dimension.

    I recently found this wonderful theme and plan to use it for my blog! :)

    Okay, how do I change the name of the “Links” or “Blogroll” header on the sidebar?

    For the life of me, I can’t figure out how to do this!

    @Caro: In sidebar.php, find this code <?php get_links_list(); ?> and replace it with the following:

    <li id="links">
    <h2>This is where you put the heading of your choice</h2>
    <ul>
    <?php get_links(); ?>
    </ul>
    </li>

    Love the template and am trying to customize it (minimally) for my blog. I’ve substituted my title.gif in the images folder, but the header doesn’t change. Do I need to also make a change to the code in the theme editor? Thanks/

    Nice theme. I am planning to use it on my website. Keep it up.

    I’ve applied the theme (which is excellent, btw!) and modified the ad copy text and header image.

    Now I have a slight problem: The search button and “About” link have now moved up into the blue space of the header.

    What do I need to do to get them to display in the proper place?

    You can see what I mean here: http://www.drivelineblog.com

    Thanks!

    AWSOME Theme! I want to use this theme as my permenant theme. Eventually I want torun ads but until my ad sense is approved, is there an easy way to remove the left sidebar? Right now it is just a mong vertical ad. I’d like to remove it for now and just have the content area widen to the left.

    If this is possible, can you kindly share how this is done or what code (and which files), I’d need to modify?

    Thanks!

    Hey, ive been using your theme for a month now and I love it. However, I would love to move the tags/catgories from the top to the bottom of the post, is there an easy way I could do that (css)?

    Thanks, Stuart

    The footer has disappeared from my site. The ‘get footer’ code is still in all the templates, and so is footer.php, so I don’t know why this is happening. I don’t claim to understand php. I suppose the simplest thing is to reinstall the theme, but I would like to get a better understanding of what I am using if possible. Thx.

  23. Posted by Nat Colley on October 1st, 2007 at 12:47 am

    Ok, we need to revisit this issue. Sorry to be back again so soon. The reason this is an issue is because I was trying to install google analytics. I followed the directions for a dynamic php site and THAT is what made the footer disappear. When I follow the instructions for a static site, even though mine isn’t, google says it finds the code and your footer is still there (along with the tag). Is this because your footer is called all the time so it ‘acts like’ a static page?

    Hi there! I’ve been using the theme for a while and I love it but some people have asked if I can expand the comment box out a bit, it’s just too small for most people to see. Any simple ideas?

    Thanks!

    @Gavin: I hope I answered your question through email. For the sake of those who have the same concern:

    Editing the cols/rows attribute of the <textarea cols=”20″ rows=”10″> in comments.php can expand the size of the comment box.

    Your site is beautiful and I actually loved this particular theme as my blog needs a simple and professional looking theme. And you’re theme is sakto. :)

    Is it okay if I change the image sa header sa sarili kong image or text to match my site?

    Anyway, again, congrats and more power to you!
