I’m breaking the silence.

And it’s because of this 1 million peso prize that can be won at 7-Eleven’s Peel-A-Million promo! When Fluffy bought something from the convenience store, he got this coupon with a “heart” design and 1,000,000 print. Apparently, according to the promo mechanics, ONLY ONE who collects all 5 designs with the same prize money could win the one million peso!

Therefore, Fluffy and I are searching for those people with the 4 other designs (clover, spade, diamond, joker) with the PhP1,000,000 print. And we’re doing it through the Internet, particularly through this blog. Hopefully we’d be successful.

If you have any of the designs with a PhP1,000,000 print and would like to join our cause, you may just comment on this entry or contact us through email.

Otherwise, if you’re simply interested in our “quest for the million peso”, just drop by your favorite 7-Eleven outlet and save those tickets. Also, don’t forget the receipts corresponding to each ticket since you’ll need them to claim the prize. The promo runs until January 22, 2008.

Issai (a.k.a. ladygadfly), a Filipina blogger based in the US is giving away PS2 games to lucky fellow Filipino bloggers!

Of course I also wanted to have one of those games. Although I’m not a rabid PS2 gamer, Fluffy is one and he’s an ultimate fan of the Final Fantasy series. Actually, I’ve already seen him play most of the games listed there. I just wanted to get those for him *kunyari* so I can have the *right* borrow his console and play those games at home myself.

“Shadow of the Colossus” is a very engrossing game, very spectacular with regards to visuals. But a bit complex when it comes to controls, I think it totally needs the hardcore gamer hands to get on those colossi and slay them. Of course, “Tekken 5″, probably the most popular multi-player PS2 game out there would be great to play with Fluffy, especially in those times when you feel the need to beat the crap out of someone. I’ve played the first parts of “Resident Evil 4″ in Nintendo Wii. But I guess it’d be great with the PS2’s vibration mode on. *shudders* I heard Fluffy gushing over the greatness of “God of War” (as well as the 2nd), and the “Valkyrie Profile” series but haven’t actually seen him play.

This is my entry to that contest.

Now, I’ll just state some reasons why I’d be happy to win the contest:

1. The winner will be determined by the mid of November. And guess what? My birthday is on the 10th, which is around that time.
2. I just wanted to play and have fun, ’cause it really gets boring and lonely when you’re living alone.
3. I guess people would rather hear me talking about playing PS2 games, than watching Zaido and Marimar, ayt?

And so I really want need them.

Now that I’ve gotten my hands on a steady Internet connection, I’m planning to upgrade to WordPress version 2.3. For someone like me who relies heavily on highly-customized plugins, I just can’t do my upgrades in a short span of time. What if the plugin doesn’t work? I’d then have to suspend my site if my layout gets screwed. There might also be tag changes that might hurt my existing theme.

So before the big upgrade, here’s a list of what I should remember to make the transformation easy for me:

• Research for known WordPress plugin (in)compatibilities.
• Research on the features of the new version like new and deprecated template tags.
• If you’re planning to change your current theme, design and create it first. Just make sure it already supports the new features and addresses the known incompatibilities.
• Follow the steps in upgrading WordPress.

One thing’s for sure, until I design a new layout, there won’t be any WordPress upgrades on this blog.

The derelict state of my blog has fully came to my awareness when someone commented on an eye-sore that is my sorry gradient layout. By the way, I really appreciate the comment. At least someone noticed my layout without me resorting to those “comment” sites. The most subtlety-lacking hint that I need to update the layout very soon!

Feel free to critique my layout *please*, as I really need your inputs on design ’cause my mind totally revolves around Java/JEE-related stuff nowadays. *sigh* Perhaps having a new look would motivate me to write more than occasionally.

And the release of WP 2.3, I just can’t ignore updating since finally, this version has native tagging features! As you may notice, my site is totally ignorant of the presence of tags, theme-releaser I may be, which is so irresponsible of me.

Aye aye! This is Mii. Although it looks a little bit chubbier than my my actual chubby face, it’s cute! And guess where I got it?

From the Mii Editor! I don’t know why I only found this site today. I’ve been wondering for months how I could publish the Mii made by Ate I for me, or at least generate some icons of my own Mii.

I also made one for Fluffy. These aren’t exactly the Mii’s we use in playing Wii Sports or Wii Play and other first-party Wii games. But I’d love to post the one that kicked Fluffy’s Mii’s butt in boxing.
