Sayonara, Hikari…

Goodbyes aren’t always easy to say. I had to wait until the clock reads 5:00 PM until I was able to click that “Send” button. I thought it would be as easy as leaving the office after the conclusion of a day’s work. Mixed feelings came after they called me to the 5th level and surprised me with a “goodbye” Goldilocks rainbow cake. I was touched by the gesture. Had I waited for another year to say it, tears would have drowned me.

I have never really attached myself emotionally with the (client) company, as I know people in my profession experience situations like this every so often and I know I tend to be over-sentimental sometimes. But yesterday, the overflowing emotions surprised me.

To say the least, I’m happy to have worked with some of the most smart (pun intended), hard-working and responsible people I’ve met. (Not to mention such thoughtful people.) The corporate culture in the company is something I admire. No wonder it’s one of the top companies in the country. I hope to meet more of them in my future work. And who knows, we might work together again someday. :)

Thank you so much and best wishes.
