Getting into the habit

For more than a week, F & I have totally skipped the habit of riding the jeepney in going to work. Before, our routine would include riding from Bagtikan to Gil Puyat. And then from there, it would take us another jeepney ride to reach Ayala Avenue.

If we are to walk, it would probably take us 20 to 30 minutes, quite safe to say that our location is “walking-distance” from work. Actually, I’m willing to walk everyday. That is, if F & I won’t mind ourselves reeking in sweat once we reach our respective destinations. But since I do, and my feet aren’t at their best at walking when I’m wearing a pair of boots with worn down heels.

What didn’t cross our minds before was there are tricycles nearby that service routes from the village to Makati Fire Station.

For P20, you won’t get into the hassle being anxious over the little time left to waste on the heavy traffic from Gil Puyat to Ayala. Since the regular fare (as of writing) is P8 for one person, we’d spend P32 if we are to make two jeepney rides. That saves us P12 each day (P240 a month ~whoa). Another good thing is you get a daily morning exercise for those slothful legs and feet, yet still don’t feel sticky and sweaty upon reaching the office.

I actually have a goal for this startup habit. And that is to eventually walk to work every day. But I need to get used with this small step first. I’m sure I’d be adjusting a lot more. (Attitude, here we go.)

And before that, of course, I wouldn’t want to walk in those office shoes. I’d have invest in some walking shoes first, better yet a Running gear, just in case this will eventually lead to the pre-corporate lifestyle I had. (And I dearly missed running around the grandstand, I swear.)

Finding ways to keep fit, albeit small, is the start of a healthy lifestyle!

    Goodluck! ^__^
