Winter fading, wedding springing
Hmm… I’m not sure if winter is saying goodbye already but a lot of wedding ideas are coinciding with the nearing spring. Since the advent of internet into my life, how many times have I heard about bloggers and net friends announcing about exchanging vows with their respective beloveds? There’s Gail, Pao and Liz. Now, here’s Rien. 
Anyway, it’s not her real name but I’ve known her since the birth of my blog and personally met her once. 
(And guess who’s the lucky guy? That dude in super cool Matrix costume who won first place in the 2003 C3 Convention cosplay competition! Like whoa~) Honestly, it’s just so overwhelming that once in my life, I came close to these people (or almost).
Speaking of weddings, last weekend at Fluffy’s house, a young couple (his friends) came over for a visit. And tossed the question at us for the nth time about… you bet, wedding plans. Truth be told but as much as we’d love to think about such plans, it only pains us more because we know we can’t afford IT anytime soon. We need a lot of financial strengthening to do, a lot of decision-making.
The facts in this article only proves much about the mountainous path we have yet to travel before THAT. And even if Secured Loan schemes do exist, I still prefer to spend the money that’s already mine than be on debt.
I’m not, however, shutting my senses off on opportunities like this. Unknown to a lot of people who have read this blog, I have incurred myself to a great financial squeeze during my stint in the military by getting a 50,000 PhP (~1,000 USD) loan from a mutual fund (AFP MBAI). The positive (and probably noble) thing with the loan obtainment was it went to my savings. With a low 8% annual interest rate, I still gained around 10% after depositing my loan to AFPSLAI, which by that time yields 15% - 20% interest a year. (Some people in the organization actually get rich with that.)
Well, best of luck to all the couples who are about to tie a knot this year. May they be free of worries about financial hurdles that may come in the way.
