Two weeks preparation. 5 days of practice. 3 rounds at the grandstand. Early morning rise (3 am to be precise). Sweat, sweat and more sweat. Burger and bottled H2O breaktime.

Hundreds of military troops went to Quirino grandstand to salute and recognize the 109th year of Philippine Independence. It was such a quick part of the whole program, a good 5 minutes was all it took. But I can’t imagine how many bucketful of sweat were spent to arrive at the final presentation.

Like last year, I was once again, a part of it. The last time I’ll probably salute at the Luneta as a military personnel. And this is one of the things I’ll surely miss when I’m out.
