Repetitive
I hate Thursday mornings. Early mornings. Yes we do the routine of waking up early for exercises but unlike TaeBo which we do every Tuesday, our Arnis is boring, so boring that it totally brings out the half-heartedness in me when in comes to sweating out.
This morning, while doing the hit-and-block steps, I was thinking about how could I convince myself to perform properly. One reason I hesitate to move well is I really doubt the form of Arnis they’re implementing. We are using two sticks but I find it really weird when they keep on holding the other stick steadily in front while using the other hand to strike. Although it wasn’t something I took in college, I remember my high school PE on the basics of this Philippine martial art. I did search the net about Arnis but it seems like I really need to buy a book to learn more about it.

Actually, i kinda miss my PE lessons back in high school. Haha. I don’t have PE in my school anymore. But sweating out normally makes me feel really energized. Lol
Thursdays are my favourite days cuz it’s the only day I get my afternoons free. For naps. Hahaha
Well, whether or not they teach you the “right” form of the martial art, or another version of it, you should take it more as a work out to do the best you can and try to motivate yourself. If you find it hard though, I’d say talk to the instructor and ask what tips you can use to motivate yourself.
I got to watch our Arnis team practicing back in college. Some of my friends tried it but I was too afraid to. haha.
my boyfriend learns arnis though and told me it was great.
