What’s worse than the summer heat?

Hearing people rant about how bad is weather these days compels me to do just the same. The disgruntled people of our directorate are most likely to go AWOL without the much needed air conditioning. Yes, my dear people, it’s been almost a week yet still, not much action had been taken except to estimate how the re-wiring of the electrical components in our office would cost. Now the budget officer is still waiting for the approval of the request for funds. That’s how bad the procurement system in the organization is. They have yet to wait for one of their employees to die from heat stroke while blogging and ranting at how the room feels like sauna.

But I’m sure the office isn’t the only reason for the our low morale. It’s the weather in general. Just to illustrate how hot it feels here. Imagine yourself running three rounds around the oval just like what we had this morning. It was already damn hot even before the exercises started. And while jogging, I could feel that the fatigue was brought more by the heat rather than the intensity of the exercise. Add the fact that most of us had already gone a series of sleepless nights because of the unbearable temperature in the barracks.

And yes, what’s worse than the summer heat?

It’s suffering from cough and cold during summer. Why, you may ask? That’s because you have to restrain yourself from drinking cold drinks, freezy halo-halo and stuff that would somehow ease the hot feeling.

I always wondered why filipinos constantly complian about the heat when it’s always hot in the country. Shouldn’t we be use to it?

I actually agree on what you said. We can’t sleep properly as the temperature bugs us at night or even we’re having siesta.

Hope you won’t suffer from cough and colds this time. hehe.

It’s usually hot in Texas, but for some reason, it’s been pretty cold lately. There’s been a lot of rain, which is pretty normal for April, but the temperature is about forty or fifty degrees cooler than it should be.

I’d take a freezing day and cold over a hot, humid summer! Being from Minnesota, USA - we have to deal with practically every weather situation - except hurricane.

I’m glad I don’t live in a very hot country, though, this Spring has been unusually warm. Which is unfortunate since I really cannot handle heat very well :/

Being sick in hot weather stinks. When I’m sick in the summer, I have to stay covered under my thick thick thickkk blankets, covered from head to toe.
    Hope you feel better soon!
