The night that was…

I’m currently at a netcafe in our village to upload my new WordPress theme, Red is Passion. Heck, why could I not access the PBA site? Thanks to Technorati, I’ve heard what the bloggers have to say about the recently concluded event. :)

I was there and it was worth the time wearing my so-so inches wedge sandals. (Hehe, I am really short without those.) What’s more worthy of the time going there is seeing and shaking hands with other fellow Filipino bloggers like Shari and Mae and seeing face-to-face people I admire like Gail and the sassy lawyer (she handed me my trophy!).

The venue was only about 75% filled and the event would have been better with everyone around especially the finalists. Some winners weren’t there so the organizers received the awards for them. Nevertheless, congratulations to all of them (us pala!). And to the organizers and the volunteers, most of all for the successful event.

In an attempt to celebrate bagging the Best Custom Theme Award for Blu3zin3 (naks!), Fluffy and I dropped by Gateway and munched on some Pizza Hut salad combo meal. (Damn, we’re really broke that time ’cause the ATM at our camp and the RCBC plaza wouldn’t allow us to widthraw cash.)

After that Fluffy took me home. Mommy, who came home to attend my brother’s graduation, was there to surprise us with the second-hand Revo they bought yesterday. :) Then we took Fluffy to the jeepney terminal, where he had to commute to Cubao.

It was a pretty night. I felt really blessed. And to end the post, I’d like to specially mention the prayer led by Fr. Stephen at the start of the event.

Make our hearts meek and humble
that we may treat our readers as friends, not as unique hits,
that we may strive to change ourselves for the better more often than we pimp our site templates,
that we may find more time to ease the pain of someone in our own home than to reply to comments left by strangers,
that we may interact with our next door neighbors as often as we chat with our blogrolled friends,
that we may be more concerned about helping the less privileged than about the number of subscribers to our RSS feeds.
