Not really for Filipinos. But lucky Europeans shall see Metallica on concert again this summer according to the official mailing list.
From July 1 to 18, the band is scheduled to perform in European cities such as Werchter (at the Rock Werchter Fest), Athens (at the Rockwave Fest), Vienna (in Rotundenplatz), Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki and Moscow. Moreover, according to the ML, a few more shows shall also be scheduled. And who knows, they might include other fans’ homebase. Oh, how I wish they visit my beloved country. Wouldn’t you want them playing in our own music festivals (do we have one aside from Feté)?
We All Love Ennio Morricone
Aside from the announcement on the tour, the ML also announced the release of Metallica’s version of “The Ecstasy of Gold” (Clint Eastwood movie OST, anyone?) by Ennio Morricone, a notable film scorer. For those who have listened to the S&M album (or even heard the S&M concert), this track was played by San Francisco Symphony Orchestra at the start. Now on the tribute album to the composer, Metallica reciprocates by playing their version of the song. Sweet!

Metallica’s best song is Seek & Destroy. I love it.
