Three stiches

Minus the low salary, working for the military gives us a lot of perks. I mentioned about the tooth restoration I had last week. The only cash (coins, actually) I drew out from my pocket is the 7-peso fare from the dental dispensary to our headquarters. (Okay, if I could only convert pain into money, I had probably spent a thousand but I’d skip that.)

Now, I mean today, I had just undergone a yet more complex procedure at the hospital but I spent nothing. Even the prescribed drugs were free. If you might be wondering what type of procedure I went through, I had a small cyst-like protuberance on my left leg removed. The doctor who examined me at the surgery room last week diagnosed it as a sebacious cyst.

I wouldn’t want to go through the details of the minor operation but I can’t help telling everyone that it doesn’t feel so good to be staring at the ceiling while you feel something being pulled and torn apart on the lower part of your body. How I wished I had taken out the book from my pouch, and read while the doctors were operating.

But everything’s fine now. I was given a 48 hour SIQ rest and I’ll be back next week for the removal of the stiches. The doctor made three by the way, and told me to refrain from doing strenuous exercise until the skin heals completely.
