Laundry buddy
I don’t mean to express this as a complaint but doing the laundry is getting too tiring for me these days. Way back our training, my classmates & I used to do the laundry together. As I recall, my buddy Esther aka Bars even washed the clothes for me when I was too tired to do it myself. True, it was a really good bonding activity for those people who don’t despise washing clothes. Otherwise, it was a fun time for us to criticize those who do. I miss those things badly and that makes doing laundry tiring and fun no more. Since then I’ve been thinking of ways to revive the fun in washing clothes.
The only thing I can possibly come up with is having an mp3 player where I could listen to music during the ‘lonely moments’. Fluffy offered his phone but I refused. I wanted something of my own. Besides, I’ve been planning to buy an iPod for long and it could have been possible only if I hadn’t lost some important amount of cash in my workplace.
My priority was the 4GB iPod that costs roughly $250 (~12,000 plus PhP). Last Saturday, Fluffy & I got bored at the TOEI Phil event because we came there too early for the cosplay event. I just then decided that I’d buy the music player at Megamall.
I changed my choice upon seeing the small difference in the price of the 4GB from the 30GB iPod. But the dealer offered again another player with comparably the same price (around $300 ~ 16,000 PhP) but is undeniably more feature-packed than the 30GB iPod.
I got excited upon learning that I can play avi files aside from music files in that nifty device. That means I can play my downloaded subs anytime anywhere. It also has an FM radio tuner, image manager, recorder and organizer. Plus it’s like a large flash drive.
Needless to say, being influenced by Fluffy in going for functionality over the name, I chose the Creative Zen Vision M. I got the green one cause it was the only stock available (I wanted the pink one, hmpffftt~). I also got a bargain on the free portable speakers that goes with it.
I had a hard time installing the software on my work PC because of some conflict with my QuickTime version. Fluffly thinks I wasn’t satisfied with the product but I told him I was just sad that I couldn’t transfer my stuff outrightly. I haven’t really read reviews prior to buying the Zen but learning that it got 2 Consumer Electronic Show awards (Best of Show and MP3 & Portable Audio Category) took away my doubts.
I tried the sofware on Fluffy’s PC and on Toshi and I can transfer my files now. I already transferred a majority of my music files. Next step is transferring the anime that I haven’t seen yet.
I won’t get lonely doing my laundry anymore this time. ![]()
