WordPress 2.0.5 was released 4 days ago. But I’m still unsure if it has what my site needs for displaying the latest entry, setting the offset and excluding some categories at the same time. See, I’m still using 2.0.3 and for some reason, I cannot easily upgrade to higher versions.

I modified some codes in wp-includes/classes.php by setting a variable called offset which I use in the query_posts() function. I got the idea from the WP trac, the WP bug reporting tool, development tracker and repository (I think). I explained the detail of what I did here. Someone told me that these changes will be applied to version 2.1 or 3.0. So… I’ll just wait for that.

It’s amazing that I’m home today at this unholy hour. I won’t be going to work later this All Saints’ Day, although we are on Red Alert (Tita Glo is out of the country plus any holiday is a Red Alert day). The folks here are sort of celebrating the Halloween by watching The Grudge 2 and reading Philippine horror stories (can be bought from the National Bookstore). I wouldn’t be that stupid to scare myself. Feh. I’ll just play my usual games or watch my downloaded stuff.

[EDIT] I found a gem in TRESE, a locally published comic series by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo featuring Filipino myths in a modern way. The stories are very well-written and the illustration is something you wouldn’t expect from a 30PhP (~0.6 USD) buy. I still don’t have copies of the issues but thanks to the blogsite, I would drop by Comic Quest if I’d be going to Megamall.[/EDIT]

Although I wanted to level up my character Kitzie in Hero Online, I’m afraid I’ll lose the EXP to my drowsiness.

That is her at 4Dan 3Kyu (level 43). Beside her is a Flying Chicken Red Hawk handed over by Kitzr who just got a Great Tiger for a pet since he got to level 50. She’s still wearing that mask I got from the Hero Tavern when it had 2000 free Gift Points. New accounts now don’t have free GP anymore. You need to buy Gift nCash (1000 GP = 1000 nCash = 1USD) in order to “spiffify” the appearance of your character. That’s the point of free gameplay with paid services. (Kinda works like the Open Source way.) ;^^

Fluffy suggested that we play another online game, Silkroad Online so we both can start from zero and then level up together. I’m currently downloading the client. Hope this will finish tomorrow so we can start playing ASAP.
