And we beat the time once more…

My applause goes to Fluffy for finishing the 2-mile run in 16 minutes and a few seconds! And same goes to myself for arriving at the finish line 10 seconds before 19 minutes. We did it!!! Yey! :D It’s actually better that we took the earlier schedule than what I wrote yesterday. At least nothing more other than our actual work is bothering us now. I do not expect to be relieved from the service just because of a flunking PFT result.

One thing more, Fluffy won in his bet with a senior so we’re expecting some pizza treat by the end of the month. Yey! :) I’m so happy for both of us. And also proud that four of our girls (the junior ones) beat the clock. Congratulations everyone!

My brain’s currently adjusting to Linux (Fedora) again. I got used to this several months ago when I began contributing for a module in the project they are developing in Linux environment. But that was like six or seven months ago, long before I got assigned again to this project that they develop in Windows. Although let’s say that both projects use same tools (Java, Tomcat, Ant, Eclipse, PostgreSQL, etc), getting used to the routine actually takes some time for me (like a week or so).

For instance, my database is working perfectly in Windows. But in Fedora, I have to tweak a lot more stuff in order to get it working. Or else, I have to rely on that remote database stored in our repository server. That would definitely affect the development period since working on local is definitely faster than accessing the remote.

And also, there is this tiny little sin that I couldn’t do while I’m not on Windows. I couldn’t work on the ‘extras’ I do like doing stuff in Adobe Photoshop. :( Yes, there’s GIMP on Fedora but I’m still not used to it. Yesterday, I backed up my current ‘extras’ on Toshi (my laptop) and I might just do the extras there. :D The only drawback is its smaller resolution. But it’s okay. I’ve done so many projects on Toshi before and I don’t think he would fail me now. :)

Aww, that is wonderful news, you should be very proud! :) Eeek operating systems can be so difficult and confusing, I try and avoid doing those things. Sticking with websites and design, domainy things is were I am happy. :P

Aww congrats :) I could never do that in that amount of time haha. I probably would have walked the whole way haha, I get bored easily when I try to run :P Congrats to Fluffy on winning that pizza too :D Ah, goodluck to getting use to it again. I hate adjusting to using something different, but once you get use to it it’s no big deal.

[...] But I decided to finish the PFT. Pffft. Running with blood oozing from your hole is just no-metch. I did my usual slow-paced jogging. And with a positive attitude, I dashed to the finish line just to arrive just 5 seconds before the cut-off time for my category - 19:24. For the record, that was my longest time. Pffft again. But I’m still happy being able to defeat this bloody curse. Fluffy also passed. Although unlike before, we didn’t win any pizza today. [...]
