Battle Fury Manta Style

At first, I wasn’t too happy with the line-up of our yesterday’s DoTA game since I got into the team opposite Fluffy’s. Everytime we play, I’m always afraid that I will cause the team’s eventual loss because of my relative inexperience and weak tactics. Yesterday was no different from the usual days. But during the picking of our heroes, I chanced upon choosing Skeleton King, one character I could honestly handle because of its few activatable skills.

I enjoyed playing the game, especially the first few minutes when I could fight squarely with the opposite force despite the fact that my character is melee, and my companion & I are fighting two ranged characters in the middle lane of the map.

When I leveled up to a few notches and harvested enough gold (thanks to my Hand of Midas build :) ), my ally advised me to use Battle Fury. I clicked one of the NPC’s, hovered over the said item and looked for the items for the recipe. I was a bit puzzled because I ‘know’ that Robe of the Magi is for INTELLIGENCE type characters, while mine is STRENGTH type. I bought the item anyway and also completed Diffusal Blade to create the ‘Battle Fury’.

While the enemies were pushing through the middle lane, our tower busted, I got the chance to ‘use’ the Battle Fury. I clicked the item and lo, I was surprised! Two illusions of my character spawned and began battling the enemy creeps and heroes. Whoa~ I’ve used Battle Fury but it wasn’t like this before, I thought that time.

I still didn’t have an idea that I was misled into buying an item which is NOT Battle Fury until we lost and had our usual after-game chat.

The chat excerpt…
Nemesis: I told you to use Battle Fury! But you didn’t follow.
kurowasan (me): I did!!! I used Battle Fury!
Nemesis: You created Manta Style!
kurowasan (me): I did? OMG!!! It looks totally like Battle Fury!!!!

Uh-oh! My sight failed me again…. 8O

The moral of the story: READ WORDS NOT PICTURES! XO

Btw, I submitted the WordPress theme I made to Themes Viewer. :) In case you didn’t see the update at the left portion of the journal, it’s also downloadable here. :)

It sounds like you had a lot of fun playing you game. Is this a video game? I rarely play video games, so I can’t really relate to your experience, but it does sound fun, and the moral holds tue for just about anything, lol.

Your wordpress theme is gorgeous! I like the content area, how the page is wavy :).
