Turn-over

Today marks my second instance of witnessing a turnover ceremony of the Philippine Army command. The first was in August last year wherein I was even a part of the testimonial parade. This year we’re no longer on the parade grounds. There were rumors that this new commanding general is quite queasy with the presence of enlisted women (namely, us). So no platoons of female soldiers were deployed which is positive on our side. Anyway, who would want to stand at attention (or at parade rest) in the grounds for 3 or more hours while listening to the flatteringly redundant speeches of the higher ups? I’m through with it. But I wouldn’t really be grumpy about it if I will be assigned this duty once more. I have this desire to turn every tiring, exhaustive physical experience into something memorable. ;)

Last night we had three losses in a row in DoTA. That sucked big time… :(

[...] Let’s give some proofs of his notorious orders. I hadn’t mentioned about several personnel bogging down during the turn-over ceremony last Saturday. Now the news is everywhere. These people are now dismissed from service as ordered (according the sources) by the new commander. Oh, I could just imagine how Joy Borge would jump for joy, being discharged for bogging down during the flag raising activity. (But now he’s gone AWOL and the lucky guy wouldn’t be experiencing any of these.) And just while writing the previous lines, I heard my senior asking if I’ve gone to the finance center wearing uniform without the upper garment. Supposedly if that person is identified, she will be outrightly discharged. Whoa, I’m like so scared. Now, I wish I really have gone there. [...]
