Friendster no more

And YouTube too.
Our network admins implemented the unauthorized site-ban so I’m taking an indefinite hiatus from watching Youtube and stalking people in Friendster starting today.
Our company/office has taken measures to cut down its bandwidth consumption since we migrated from Windows servers to Linux. Just after the migration, before the policies were implemented, we could even download torrents, connect to private networks like Hamachi and play online games (like Ran Online, WC3 BattleNET, Gunbound, etc). Now, I’m thankful that there’s only a few people here who access blog sites like LiveJournal or Blogspot.
But if they ever ban the sites which I consider the “50% of the reason why I’m staying here”, I just don’t know what I would do. I’d probably super-kick the ass of that classmate of mine who belongs to that group of network admins. (Yah, that’s not impossible considering that I’ve broken his bones once during that time I saw him watching porn on the computer beside my workstation, and we didn’t talk for like a month.) So yeah, hail! We are f0rn-free, bangbus-free, kimberly naughty schoolgirl-free! Haha, I can still remember the name when they started talking about that.

But seriously, the policy was implemented as a resource-saving measure. We work in a government office and we’re wasting the Filipino people’s money in doing these non-work-related habits. Sometimes though, doing these types of activities are made as an excuse to boost the morale of these soldier-workers.

Eep I\’m glad that the office I work in is small enough that there is basically no restrictions on site surfing. However, I get nervous that they might check histories and stuff so I don\’t go beyond the odd LJ check then quickly deleting it from the histories.
