Last Tuesday, last week, 24th of May to be exact, we had our 2nd Quarterly PFT. The experience was hardly comparable to what I felt 3 months before (Feb). I had the usual jitters. I even practiced the 2-mile run the Saturday before the event and I barely reached the passing time. But I was already more confident than before.
Unlike the previous experience, I wasn’t thinking of too many random things (almost hallucinations) while I was running. I experienced during one of our roadruns the power of mind domination. Running close to the graves (we jog around Libingan ng mga Bayani) made me imagine Metallica’s cover for their Master of Puppets album. The song (of the same title) crept on my head like (probably) heroin. I lost my strength and bogged down. During the PFT, all I had in mind was keeping track of the time.
The PFT participants were almost a group of rampaging bulls when the announcer started the clock. I kept myself behind the group. I was afraid they’d trample on me since I keep a slow pace. It was rather tiring that I had to overtake some people while pacing my run. During my third lap, two people ran by my side as I seemed to trudge the road because of exhaustion.
But I didn’t nearly collapse after the run. ;^^ During our 1st Quarter PFT, I nearly hit our boss who
is God’s blessing to blasphemous me accompanied me during the run, because of my desire just collapse on the ground when my vision gone murky because of oxygen deprivation. It became the topic of jokes while our office was still feeding on my victory over the seemingly-impossible-to-defeat PFT.
[EDIT] Wait… the title has nothing to do with the entry… ;^^ I realized I must be blogging about something else… [/EDIT]
