Beatallica.org is back!

Whoa~! (pron. Ooooo aaaa ala Papa Het)

Beatallica.org is back since yesterday (May 6) after almost 2 months of hiatus, following the cease-and-desist letter sent by Sony. The letter apparently threatened the band for legal action and for paying “unspecified damages” due to infringing some parts of the Beatles catalogue, which is owned by Sony.

Thankfully, due to the number of fans that brought the issue out on online communities (blogs, forums), and with a little help from the Metallica drummer himself (Lars Ulrich), the record company has decided not to sue at the moment.

Beatallica has been doing parody covers for Beatles and Metallica since 2001. I currently own five mp3s of Beatallica. Probably, one prominent (and hilarious) “feature” of the band would be the vocalist. Jaymz Lenninfield has definitely put some extra work impersonating James Hetfield’s unique vocal style.

I cannot, however, give credit to the other elements of the band since they are playing the Beatles’ songs and melody, and only doing them the Metallica way. I mean, sorry, no power chords, riffs, solos and stuff like that. Beatallica is not really intended for the music-loving entity in every person. It’s just a comical stunt probably aiming to amuse the Beatles or/and Metallica fans out there.
