Of ticks and freedom

I don’t find anything “bloggable” about myself during the past few days. Except perhaps my growing love for my pet dog Moochie and my neglect for Quat-chan’s 2nd pregnancy. That tick powder bath really worked for both Moochie and Mekon. Although they’re both not tick-free, at least I couldn’t see any tick popping out of their coats anytime. x_X

I can somehow say that the path to developing tolerance over something is through making yourself to get used to it. I despise small crawling organisms like ticks. More so they’re known as blood-sucking arachnids (they’re not insects). Since my pet dogs adopted these creatures, Michi and I have done everything to eradicate the pests. We pulled every tick out of their skins with our BARE HANDS.

It came to a point where the pests hadn’t only infested the animals but also every corner of our house. Ticks everywhere - under the sofa, the chairs, and ON MY BED. The scariest part was when I felt ticks crawling on my skin *sings Linkin’ Park* and I found some on my towel and undies. The horror!

Good thing I saw this tick bath on the grocery store. That’s several % off my allowance (although this has been the trend ever since I got Moochie). Free of ticks at last! :)

The Philippine Government must be commended for its decision of pulling out the country’s military troops in Iraq. I must say that it’s the morally right decision. It could’ve kept its principles of siding with the US and making these humanitarian contingent stay until August, and save its face in front of the world. But what of an innocent life put at stake because of US’ aggression?

This must have uncovered the real identity of the Philippines - easily threatened by just a small faction of rebels. What just happened should be an eye-opener for the government.

I wasn’t truly optimistic that Angelo de la Cruz will be saved. Nevertheless, thank God he was.
