Hunting for CD’s (and jobs)
I went looking for DVD-R prices several weeks ago at an Epson store in Megamall and still shocked that there isn’t a single brand that costs below P300. Good thing I dropped by Ali Mall after class last week, in search for nothing in particular cheap DVD-R’s. Yay! I found the cheapest at P25. DVD-RW’s are still quite expensive (the cheapest is P80), but still an advantage buy from the Epson shop. I’m unsure if my DVD-RAM supports RW’s since I bought a +RW (and not an RW), which is beyond the drive’s support.
I was able to burn one DVD although it only used 3.2 GB out of the 4.7 GB disc capacity. That saves a lot of space! (It would have still been better with RW’s). Plus, my Nero ImageDrive has proven itself useful for NWN since I don’t have to play the game from the CD Drive anymore (that saves my precious drive from overusage).
Anime VCD Hoard. I saw a small shop at Riverbanks selling anime series! There’s Naruto, Slam Dunk, Get Backers, YYH, etc. Each CD costs P50 so a whole series (like Naruto) must cost around P2500. Shet! Must save! You Pinoy anime junkies out there, check ‘em out!

Fresh grad people seem to be settling to jobs these days. And I feel I’m already left out. *big sigh* I wanted to work but I also need to focus more on my course and my responsibility at the org. My father told me, it’s better if I’ll already find a job soon since this is the most basic requirement for employment in the Middle East, whatever your job will be - be it a SCANNER (my classmates and I have been joking around this over the summer), BABY-SITTER, TEACHER, etc. Like they’ll find a job for me there for sure…
For once, I need to focus because I’m doing this for myself. All the hard-work, achievements, honors, etchetera during the past years, I offered them to my family. I realized I haven’t really done anything for myself except for this (and my desire to do volunteer acts). I’ve always been pleasing them, perceiving what they want is also what I want for myself. But don’t get me wrong. I do love them and this seems to be the most logical reason why I keep myself this way. I’m sure most people I know could relate to this.
Focusing. I’ll be contented if I’m going to achieve this - saving job hunting for August (but not later than that!). I read an inspirational reflection paper from our org president about being “sabog” (cluttered) and although it relates to people studying in the academe, I could count it as a good piece of advice.
