Toshi, Moochie, JVP and prestige?
I pity Toshi, my laptop. (Where’d I get that name? It’s Toshiba.) I’ve been using this like a desktop pc - downloading stuff over the net, layouting my tasks/projects, usual stuff people do over desktop pc’s. And oftentimes, since I’m addicted to manga these days, I let this poor thing run overnight. I hope it doesn’t complain. Well, from my observation, there isn’t really nothing to worry about mobile pc’s going “low” on its hardware components. I have a classmate who has an Acer Pentium II laptop. Pentium II processors have been existent around 2000. So I estimate it to be around 4 or 5 years old and that’s old! Other PC’s like that age aren’t probably as functional as that laptop anymore.

My puppy Moochie has grown bigger now. I could notice the fur changing from the soft, curly hair to straight ones. (-_-) Bye, cute and fluffy Moochie. I do still love you. When I brought him to the vet for checkup, the doctor confimed that he’s a mixed golden retriever. But believe me, his mother is a japanese spitz! I haven’t looked at his father closely but Moochie’s color resembles his father’s.

Looking for work doesn’t excite me anymore like during the first weeks. My father is now forcing me to find a job in order to gain more experience (even if it means I have to go on a 4am shift). o.O I know he has plans for me but I still want to study more. And what about my org? And JVP? It’s hard to leave the work environment once you get there, and this is my best opportunity to discern. (Hey! Recruitment Week is next week!)

If you’ve read the Guidon for the month, there’s a poll there regarding the “prestigiousness” (or should I use prestige) of the courses in Ateneo according to the students. Most of my peers must be proud now since our course ranked 4th (and 1st among the Science and Engineering courses). BS Management Honors is 1st, followed by Management Engineering, then Economics Honors, and then Physics with Computer Engineering. I’m not complaining or anything. I heard many people react in the org room about the survey, especially people from the Humanities and Social Sciences. Hey! The management population in Ateneo is a lot larger than the other courses. That’s probably why a management course ranked first. ![]()
